Day
1 Enjoy a short scenic flight to Staniel Cay, in The Exumas, to join Solstice and her professional crew, Cliff and Liza. Explore the charming out-island settlement with its lively yacht club and dive in to the beautiful waters of this popular Exumas destination. Snorkel the famous Thunderball Grotto, where you will feel as if you are in a giant aquarium, and visit the infamous swimming pigs of nearby Big Major's Spot. This calm, peaceful anchorage will get you well rested for the week's adventures to come.
Day
2 Begin the morning with Liza and her yoga/fitness, take a swim or standup paddleboard to the beach, or just relax over breakfast. Sail North through the picturesque Pipe Creek, stopping to explore Rachel's Bubble Bath, a natural, secluded whirlpool that changes magically with the tides. Snorkel the caves of Rocky Dundas or discover Scuba diving at the Fowl Cay reef. Anchor for the night in the protected bay of Cambridge Cay with a great sandbar to enjoy sunset cocktails!
Day
3 Sail on to Warderick Wells, the headquarters for The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Explore the 4 miles of trails on this protected cay with world-class photo opportunities of rare flora and fauna. Discover wells, caves and breathtaking views of the Exuma Sound. Scuba dive or snorkel on the vibrant, protected coral reefs with big, friendly fish, or explore by dinghy or stand up paddleboards. This picturesque harbor is another perfect spot for a relaxing evening under the stars and meeting other sailors on the Park Ranger's porch with a view that is not to be missed!
Day
4 Sail North to Hawksbill Cay to enjoy the sugar sand beaches, and then on to Shroud Cay, where a highlight of your charter will be the adventure through the mangrove rivers to the other side of the island. Snorkel, paddleboard, or dinghy through this naturalist's paradise. Explore the breathtaking beaches and climb to the top of Camp Driftwood for spectacular views. Experience the currents that create a natural water park or play in the gentle surf. This place is heaven on earth- an out-island experience not to be missed!
Day
5 Sail on the Exuma Sound, fishing along the way, to the Southern end of Norman's Cay. Here you can explore the island's ruins of an infamous drug runner and snorkel on his partially submerged airplane in the harbor. Colorful fish and coral have made a home in this unique snorkel site. Twinkie Beach is another highlight of this anchorage, with its lone palm tree, charming beach, and bounty of seashells to collect. Learn to spear fish on the nearby coral heads or hire a local guide to bonefish in the flats. Depending on the wind, move to another fantastic anchorage on Norman's Cay, to explore more of its incredible bays, beaches, flats and lagoons.
Day
6 Sail on to nearby Hammerhead Gulch for a spectacular snorkel or Scuba Dive. After an enjoyable lunch, continue North to explore nearby Highbourne Cay. Snorkel the Octopus Garden and visit the charming marina and restaurant, "Xuma" for some local fare and flavor. Anchor in Horseshoe Bay for a peaceful evening under the stars.
Day
7 Before departing on our 32 Nautical Mile sail back to Nassau, we will visit nearby Allan's Cay, famous for its large population of Bahamian Iguanas. A photo opportunity not to be missed, these friendly and curious creatures will scurry down to meet you on the beach! Enjoy an invigorating yet relaxing sail across the Yellow Banks to anchor off Nassau (weather permitting) or dock at Solstice's private dock in Coral Harbour and experience the local nightlife.
Day 8
Awake to one last Solstice breakfast and start your travel day easily with a 10 minute taxi-ride to the Nassau International Airport. Reflect on the beauty of the Exumas that will stay with you for a lifetime!
